Through hands-on exercises, journaling prompts and guided discussion, we'll identify our creative intentions, uncover blocks and take away strategies to ground us in creativity and resiliency that can easily be translated into our daily lives. All are welcome; no experience with art or writing is required.

With a new theme each week for this drop-in generative ekphrastic poetry series, participants drew inspiration from a variety of source materials including poetry, articles, music, photos, and visual art, investigating influence, attention, and gaze as we crafted our own ekphrastic poetry. 

Through interactive exercises, journaling prompts, and guided discussion, participants connected more deeply to themselves & took away strategies to ground them in creativity within & beyond the workshop space.

Using guided journaling prompts and facilitated group discussion, participants dreamt alongside each other as we reflected on the past year and what we could learn from it, and began crafting our visions for the future.

In this 5-part Surreal September Poetry Writing Workshop Series, writers of all levels were invited to experiment with form, subvert reality, and test the limits of language. In each interactive, generative workshop session, we explored a different surrealist poetry technique through curated short readings; created new work in response to inventive prompts and activities; and shared our work and experiences with our peers.
